What Causes Breathlessness Along With Tight Sensation In The Chest?

my son is currently taking albuterol inhaler when he s on hikes throughout his training. He has never taken an asthma exam but was told he had asthma because of his symptoms like mucus, excessive profound coughing. He s in the Marines and is running, hiking and carrying all his gear and I just spoke to him & stated he had an episode where he couldn t breathe, his chest tightened then he remembers being awaken by feeling water being dumped on him. He says he did not remember anything & was disoriented for about 20 mins and was told his color was pale. He was in cross country during school and now he s having these episodes and takes the inhaler immediately when he feels his chest tightening and hurts him like if someone has just punched him in his chest also gets chills throughout his body and is sore the next day.
