What Causes Breathlessness And Tiredness After Walking Pneumonia?

ok im a 49 year old woman and have no health problems yet. have been to see my reg Dr once a year or if I get a bad cold. well last year I got sick with a bad cold and ended up with walking penmonia not sure how to spell it, well you get it I hope . it took me a long time to heal from it. it was so bad the Dr at the urgent care wanted me in the hospital but I refused. well now its been a year and I still cant get my full deep breath and just walking down the driveway to get the mail and back it takes alot out of me and I get this overwelming feeling that something is not right.

I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you are mostly having post infectious bronchitis.
Pneumonia causes inflammatory changes in lungs. And this can lead to bronchitis.
Your symptoms like breathlessness, tiredness etc are common symptoms for bronchitis.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (pulmonary function test).
PFT will tell you about severity of the disease. And treatment is based on severity only.
You may need inhaled bronchodilator and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS).
Don't worry, you will be alright with these.
