What Causes Breathlessness, Vertigo And Nausea?

Hello, I had an episode in the grocery store today in which I found myself without the ability to catch my breath, vertigo, nausea, slight headache at temples and surprisingly under my right eye. Then for the next ten minutes i felt like i was on autopilot. it was almost as if i was watching myself fill up a grocery cart and checkout but dont really remember doing it (if that makes sense). My chest now feels like i have run a marathon and i am exhausted to boot. My hands are still shaking and still a little numbness (that s how i knew something was wrong as my hands felt like they had pins and needles and started feeling numb, as well as shaking severely.) i would appreciate any incite into these distressing symptoms.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM,

Understanding you concern. As per your query you have problem of breathlessness, vertigo and nausea . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, inflammation within the inner ear sometimes due to infection, head injury , certain medications and due to meniere's disease , acoustic neuroma , sinusitis and multiple sclerosis migraines . Low blood sugar level or low iron level can also cause such problems .Sometimes infection from upper respiratory track infection or from lymph nodes spread to ear through eustachian tube and cause such symptoms . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper evaluation of the condition . Doctor may order certain test like CT scan , MRI , blood test , audiometery test, and examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drugs along with gentamicin at least for a week , doctor may also recommend vestibular therapy .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
