What Causes Brown And Stringy Vaginal Discharge?

I have had a brown vaginal discharge for a month. I had my regular period, but the discharge has continued for the whole month. I have been on the pill since March, but I have never had this problem before. There are even brown stingy things coming out and I have even noticed similar brown stringy things in my stool.
