Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I started urinating brown urine and I m very scared. I started a job today that was very hard physical work lifting heavy weight. I was also very dehydrated. I googled this and read that this could cause this but also a lot of liver and kidney problems as well. I m drinking a lot of water. Do you know how I can tell whether its something like dehydration or hard labor/lifting or whether its something more serious like liver or kidney conditions?
Hello dear Understand your concern Yes severe dehydration and heavy lifting labor work some time cause brown colored urine due to muscle injury. Other cause may be: liver disease (excess bile secretion), UTI (cystitis/kidney infection). For exact diagnosis consult the urologist and get the following tests done: urine routine, microscopic and culture, CBC, USG abdomen, Urea, creatinine, Bilirubin, total protein, ALP, ALT, AST, etc. After diagnosis take proper treatment. Meanwhile drink lots of fluid, avoid heavy work till you get better, Antibiotic course is needed if UTI. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
