Hello,

Typically, vaginal discharge is thin and clear or white, when it is brown, it contain small amount of old blood, the old blood that has taken longer to come out of uterus may be brown. This type of discharge may be seen some days after the periods, before beginning of periods, ovulation spotting, after Pap smear and vaginal examination, and contour sex, in some peri-menopausal age also show brownish discharge, PID also cause brownish discharge but have pain also, fever, smell, burning in urine.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
