What Causes Brown Discharge At The Beginning Of Periods?

hi, i was due on yesterday my cycle is every 36 days and when i come on my period it normally bright red. This morning i went toilet wiped my self and have brown discharge. i am not stressed neither am i on medication or using any form of conception. why do i have this brown discharge?
