What Causes Brown Discharge During Menstruation?

My period started on saturady and ended yesterday, but there was only bleeding on saturday and sunday. On Monday I had brown discharge all day. I have been extremely bloated for the past week and feel like ive gained weight in my stomach. I am a virgin so I know I could not be pregnant but im not sure what is wrong with me.
