What Causes Brown Discharge During Periods Followed By White Discharge?

My period is always irregular and i never know when it will come. So ive been getting this brown discharge for about a week and i had protected sex and then the brown discharged still continued for a few days after and now its gone and im getting a white discharge. Does this mean that ive had my period already (the brown discharge) or am i pregnant?
