What Causes Brown Discharge During Periods?

i have polycystic ovary's which i found out about 2 months ago cause of a very painful cyst i had. I got my period late that month too. the next period i had was like only 3 weeks after and then now i have got my period again after 2 weeks and it very lite and brown, is this normal
