What Causes Brown Discharge During Pregnancy?

Hi, actually I had my last periods on Jan24 and the next was sked on Feb24 but it did not happen..I visited my gyni on Mar08, pregnancy test was conducted which was positive..Ultra Sound was also done this Tues/Feb15 which showed I am 05 weeks and 04 days pregnant, Doc said either the growth is slow or delayed conception. Now on Feb16 some brown spots and a cramp and called my doc, she said u shud come for a blood test immediately. Today also some brown discharge took place ....Please advice.., this is my first pregnancy. I have to go for the test today...I am worried and tensed...Please help.

Hi do not worry it will worsen the situation .well 5wks 4 days pregnancy and your doctor asked you to return forbhcg. Possibly she saw a sac smaller than 5 wks with out any foetal pole. There are two possibilties a early normal intrauterine pregnancy thratening to abort that needs wait and watch policy with hormone support or in view of delayed growth discharge and pain possibilty of ectopic which can be life threatening.hence a bhcg and repeat after72 hrs will clarify if level is doubling or less than65% first characteristic of ongoing pregnancy with repeat scan after2 wks. If less than 65 percent depending on level clincal symptoms interventipn mefical or surgical advised.
