What Causes Brown Discharge Instead Of Period Along With Lower Tummy Pain?

hi iam concerned that i either have PID or an ectopic pregnancy. I have a copper coil fitted since June last year. Over the past 3/4 weeks i have missed a period and instead have had brown discharge when i wipe. i have lower tummy pain, mainly on right side and pain down my right leg.
