What Causes Brown Discharge With Clots During Periods?

Hello,Im currently ment to be on my period, i started this moring and everythign seemed fine but since my first visit to the toilet my period has been light brown and a bit clot like. Can you tell me why this is and what i can do?Thank you,Helen
