What Causes Brown Discharges With Pain After A Period?

i came of my period a week and a half ago and now the last couple of days i started getting brown discharge when i wipe, this is now turning to red when i wipe. ive been of the pill now for a year and my periods have been normal and on time. my last period was a week late with no signs or pains and now this. a couple of days ago i had a pain which was bad and it didnt feel like normal menstual pain then i started getting the brown discharge, please can you help
