What Causes Brown Menstrual Bleeding After Having Unsafe Sex?

So last month (end of October) I stopped taking my birth control because I was 13 days late and thought I was pregnant (and I was planning on starting a new birth control anyway, so I figured it didn t matter if I stopped). But then I got my period, it lasted about 3 days, which is unusual because my periods are odd and usually last atleast a week, almost 2 weeks on the norm. And then after that, my boyfriend and I had a condom break incident and now (at the end of December) my period was 9 days late until recently I started my period but it s more of a brown discharge.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If your periods are not normal and there is a history of a condom break then you should rule out pregnancy with either a blood or urine pregnancy test.

A urine test would be easier because this can be done at home, a blood test would need to be done at your doctor's office.
Home urine pregnancy tests are accurate.

All pregnancy tests detect the HCG hormone, this is normal detectable by day 11 to 14 after conception.

I hope this helps
