What Causes Brown Menstrual Bleeding, Nausea And Dizziness?

My period only lasted about 3 days when it normally lasts the whole 7. It started light and brown but eventually turned the normal red but it wasn t as heavy as usual. Today it stopped and I have felt extremely nauseous and dizzy. What does that mean?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Dark red or brown period blood is typically nothing to be concerned about. Usually it is old blood and it has taken longer to leave the uterus. The uterine lining becomes darker, the longer it takes to leave the body of uterus. It is generally in the beginning or at the end of periods, when the flow is lighter. Also, symptoms of nausea and dizziness may be normally present along with menstruation. Still, if you doubt a pregnancy, then only HPT will confirm/rule out the pregnancy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
