What Causes Brown Mucus Discharge During 26 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

I m 26 weeks pregnant and have complete placenta previa. When wiping after going to the toilet I get some brown mucus discharge but after that first wipe there is no more. I ve had an ultrasound but it showed everything as normal. My doctor said to go straight to the hospital if I bleed. But I want to know why the brown discharge?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The brown discharge may be caused by several possible conditions but due to your history of complete placenta previa with this pregnancy, you will need to urgently see the doctor as this may be mild bleeding due to the placenta.
This can be a serious condition and needs to be properly checked.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
