What Causes Brown Semen Discharge In A Diabetic Patient?

67, male, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, both under control with meds. EDS, managed to masturbate yesterday and about a month back. Ejaculation was dark in color (brownish/rustyish). No pain, urine is not discolored. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Brown discoloration might be due to presence of blood in semen so it is important for you to see a doctor. The doctor might ask for a semen analysis and confirm if there is blood present in the semen or not.

If blood is present in the semen than very likely it is due to trauma or a tumor and the doctor might ask for investigations to diagnose the cause of it.

I hope this answers your query. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Antoneta Zotaj,
