What Causes Brown Smelly Discharge From Vagina?

Well I take a shower every other day because I have eczema and I always find really smelly brown mud like stuff in between my vagina lips and it's really gross I always scrub my body as well a's my vagina well but it always comes back It dosent give me any problems other than making my vagina smell funky
I am 16 years old and my friends mom told me it was because of not wiping well down there after using the bathroom and it's bacteria?? Is this true??
