What Causes Brown Spot On Upper Abdomen?

I have a brown spot on upper abdomin similar to a freckle but about the size of a pencil eraser. I don t know how long I have had this spot but I don t think I was born with it. I have no skin irritation from it and it is smooth to the touch. I am 22 years old and have been sunburned several times when I was younger. If there is a way I can attach a photo I can show a better picture of it. It seems to be about symmetrical. The color is a bit darker than my normal freckles but not even close to black.

Dermatologist 's  Response
the patch that you mentioned is probably a pigmented skin lesion caused by presence of excessive quantity of pigment cells or their produced pigment that has been present since quite long.
It has nothing to do with sunburn and you can just ignore it. If it looks unsightly, you might get laser removal done or use a concealer.
In case it grows or becomes darker, harder, or grows hairs out of it, then you must consult a specialist.
