General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Vaginal bleeding happens in 20% of the pregnancies in the first trimester so it is a very common finding. Half of these pregnancies continue normally without any problems.

The best way to know the importance of bleeding in your case is to follow it in time and see if the bleeding is getting less and also if the bleeding is bright red in color- these are good signs.

If the bleeding is dark or with clots and the bleeding is getting worse with time then these are serious signs related to the pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
