What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After Implanon Insertion?

I ve had the implanon for about 4 months. Bled for about 2 weeks after getting it inserted, but since then I have a constant brown clotty discharge, it for the most part stays inside me, I clean myself out with each shower but it s everyday and it s a lot of clot that builds up inside. I can t even be sexually active which is the main reason for getting my implanon. Would it be best to see my doctor, or is thus normal? Would this continue the entire time I have this implanon?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Minor bleeding is a common side effect after Implanon insertion, but since you are bleeding and clots are getting formed over 2 weeks, you need to see your gynecologist and get physically examined and evaluated.
If you are taking some other medication stop it and inform the treating doctor. Stay away from addiction of any kind.

Hope I have answered your query.
