What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After Having Intercourse?

Dears,worried and need help!i had intercourse a week after i finished my period, three days later i started getting dark brown discharge, it is not slippery not mucus and has no distinctive odor. the intercourse act was not so hard and he used the pullover method, i had semen on the outer parts though. could i be pregnant??? i read many articles but im lost and confused, if implantation was even possible then is it normal to get brown vaginal discharges after two days? this is the third day in a row that ive been noticing those discharges, and today i noticed an increase, whenever i whipe there is more. it even looks like its my period but its not really red.. note that i had an exhausting time and travelled during this time, i was pretty stressed, if that adds any valuable info. what is happening?! im worried, is this normal? Hi Ashley,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Brown colored discharge per vagina could be due to implantation bleed.
However, brown vaginal discharge could be also due to the following reasons:
1. Infection like pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), or a sexually transmitted infection (STI), like chlamydia, or
2. Mechanical injuries leading to damage to the vagina, such as tears caused or by dryness or friction during sex.
3. Cervical or endometrial polyps.
4. Inflammation of the cervix - Cervicitis.
Depending on any other symptoms associated and your medical history, the following things has to be done to evaluate for the cause:
1. Pregnancy test with urine sample
2. Pelvic examination through per vaginal examination
3. Per speculum examination to visualize the cervix
Kindly visit Gynecologist in this regard for appropriate management of the cause accordingly.
