What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge During Menstruation While On Mirena IUD?

Been On coumadin for one month for blood clot. Had Mirena IUD for 4 years. Had unprotected sex twice in last 30 days. Getting my periods every month since I got IUD 4years ago. Periods lasts normally 2 weeks but light enough for panty liner. Last week I notice dark brown discharge a couple times and bright red blood twice only when I wiped. No menstrual in May. Brown discharge heavy two days and lessened each day for next 2-3days. Whats going on with me?

Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared,you might be suffering from any vaginal infection thats the most likely cause of the vaginal discharge but you have Mirena IUD for 4 years and it is also the cause of pelvic infections.

I would recommend you to consult your gynaecologist and get the Mirena Checked for any misplacements and if that is normal then you might meed to start antibiotics for vaginal discharge.
