Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy?
Hi, I am 13 weeks pregnant and I got brown discharge sometimes it s red, I already go to O.B and they found out my placenta is down about 1cm, until now I m still getting it almost 2 weeks now.. The Doctor gives me the medicine for treatment Dupbaston 10 mg and Cyclogest 400 mg. By the way the O.B told me my baby is fine. Just I felt worried because 2 weeks from now I m still getting brown discharge..
Both medications you mention are used to prevent miscarriage so please follow the instructions of the O.B. If the placenta if found to be low it might be a cause of the bleeding. As long as it is in small amounts and you are not having profuse bleeding and not developing anemia, you can be monitored in time.
Generally while weeks go by and the uterus increases in size, placenta can move up and the bleeding can seize. If your bleeding gets worse you will need to urgently see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
General & Family Physician
