What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy?

hi, i am 10 weeks pregnant now. At 8 weeks i was detected with a 2.1 cm subchronic haemorrage. However at that time i was already taking susten 400 mg. then after 2 3 days i saw brownish discharge and my doctor doubled the dose of susten ie susten 400 mg twice a day. Soon after it cleared and i dint see any bleeding or spotting or brown discharge. Please suggest how long time it takes to resolve the SCH or what are my chances.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As per my clinical experience, the brown vaginal discharge indicates possible vaginal infection with or without hormonal changes.

* In our clinic, I recommend prophylaxis with antibiotic, local nursing care and regular follow up with the OB-GYN.

* The resolution time depends upon person to person and individual response to the treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
