What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge While On Microgynon And Antibiotics?
Hi I ve been taking microgynon for nearly 6 years now. I ve never had any problems but this month I noticed brown discharge with 3 pills left to take In my packet. Normally I bleed on day 4 of my 7 day break. I have missed a pill this month but took 2 the following day as soon as I realised. Also I ve been taking anti biotic for a water infection this month I don t know if this has anything to do with it. Should I take a pregnancy test or wait and see if the discharge turns into my period??

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
It is the pill you missed oral contraceptives need to be taken meticulously as advised. Slightest of error can cause irregular bleeding as you had continued the pills, there is less chance of pregnancy. So wait for your normal period to follow.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
