What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge?

Hi there, I had my last period on the 28th october. I had unprotected sex on the 25th october (3 days before my period) I have taken 2 pregnamcy tests both are negative. I have been having tenderness and swelling. Over the past week I have noticed brown fluid type discharge only when I wipe. Am I pregnant? Can pregnancy tests be wrong?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,
Any intercourse just before the onset of a period is safe as ovulation occurs normally two weeks prior to the next period. Home pregnancy tests read well 3-7 days after a missed period with a fresh early morning sample of urine. If you had a normal period after the intercourse, you cannot be pregnant. The cause of the discharge could be due to some breakthrough secondary to transient hormone disturbance. Please see a specialist and get a proper assessment of the situation to plan further management. Hope this helps.
