What Causes Brown Vaginal Spotting?

Age:19, Gender: Female Hi. My name is Kelsie and I am 19. I lost my virginity last Wednesday, February 7th. Today on February 17th I started bleeding. At first it was in my underwear and it was sort of brownish. Then as the day conintued I kept bleeding and it was red like a period. Although, I am not supposed to start my period for 12 more days. I am very worried I may be pregnant or some other reason for the bleeding. Could it just be an early period?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to ovulating/mid-cycle. It is as normal as it can be.

I suggest you drink liquids. The spotting will go away on its own. If the spotting continues I suggest you do a pregnancy test to exclude a pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
