What Causes Brownish Discharge During Menstruation?

im 19 and I started my period around the time I usually do, I m pretty irregular with a heavy flow. but when it started this time it lighter but it was still heavy enough to be considered. And it had clots in it and it was bright red. now that I m getting towards the end its brownish I don t know what s going on

Hello,
At your age, hormonal imbalances are frequent and this causes the irregular menstruation along with heavy or scanty flow, depending on the hormone status at the time. If you are sexually active and do not use any protection, you should also consider pregnancy, as your ovulation period cannot be predicted owing to irregular cycles. If pregnancy is excluded, this bleeding pattern is suggestive of a metropathic cycle and further management is advisable after proper clinical evaluation. Hope this helps.
