What Causes Brownish Discharge During Menstruation?

I m 22 years old. My last period was around the 20th of October. My period came early (11th) and it s not like any other regular period I usually have. It s really light and very little. My period comes somewhat red/brownish. Why is my period coming like that? Lightly and red/brown.?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have brownish discharge during menstruation . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like old blood making its exit , brown discharge for a couple of days around the time of your period can also be an early sign of pregnancy ,this usually occur when the periods comes late then normal , but in your case the periods come earlier which not a thing to worry about . You can still go for pregnancy test otherwise its is totally normally . Sometimes it can also be cause by thyroid dysfunction , other hormonal disorders and uterine fibroids , so if it occur again then consult gynecologist for proper checkup . Doctor may order ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis .
