Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Brownish Pink Inter Menstrual Bleeding While Being Sexually Active?
My period already came this month, and ended on the 15th( was six days only which is unusual for me, normally last 8). Well on the 24th I started spotting and still am, it started off as a very faint pink, than became a brownish, and now a brownish pink color. I have never had this happen before and don t know what to make of it. My fiance and I do have unprotected intercourse, and have been TTC. Can someone please explain or at least give me some information on what is going on, because it s worrying me?
Since present bleeding started on day 15 of cycle, this can not be implantation bleeding and pregnancy is unlikely.
Metrorrhagia(bleeding apart from menses) can be from many reasons, but common one in young women is dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
Now what we can do: If bleeding comes down and stops, no need to worry now and can evaluate if it recur during next cycles.
If bleeding increases or continues, kindly see your gynecologist for evaluation. Here we may need few blood tests like Hemoglobin, thyroid function and ultrasound.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
