What Causes Brownish Spots On Tonsils?

Hi, a few months back I was diagnosed with tonsilitis. I got all the treatment and everything went fine.Recently realised that my right tonsil was swollen as well as the right lymph node on my neck. I went to the doctors and was again diagnosed with tonsilitis and now on antibiotics. I have even got a blood test for glandular fever and that came back negative. My concern is that my right tonsil and lymph node may have been swollen for quite some time now and have realised that now that I am on antibiotics I have gotten brownish/red spots on them but have read that it is a good sign?I am 15 and ofcourse I search up all my symptoms and I have seen some leading to lymphoma/cancer. Should I really be concerned about that right now?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain you are diagnosed with Tonsillitis and you have red and brownish spots on the tonsils along with swollen lymph nodes..
These symptoms are of throat infection leading to Tonsillitis and get s not due to Lymphoma or Cancer..
Nothing to worry as there is nothing serious..
You should continue taking antibiotics as advised by your Physician..
You should also take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen..
Do warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
You can suck throat lozenges and drink plenty of water..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods...
You will start feeling better in 3 to 4 days..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
