What Causes Brownish Vaginal Discharge?

Hi, I just had a brownish vaginal discharge that is thick and mells very sweet, almost like a coconut cream (I do not use any products that smell that way).. I have had brownish vaginal discharges before, but never as sweet smelling as this time.. any idea what it might be? I am 29 and I think I might be ovulating..
