What Causes Bruise On The Arms And Legs While On Oxycodone For Kidney Stones?

5 days ago I went to ER because I had a kidney pain. Ruled out appendix. After CT scan showed 3mm stone in the urethra I was put on Oxy which I did not like and something to dilate the tubes. I do not think I have passed the stone yet. I only took the ½ of the Oxycodone. twice daily for 4 days. I have a lot of bruising on my arms and legs that I can not explain. I would like to know if this is medication side effect or what? Sorry but I don t want to pay for an answer. My father is a vascular surgeon and my two brothers are physicians. I can call them

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Bruising is a rare side effect of Oxycodone. So, it can be that the bruising in your case is due to its use.

You should talk to your doctor related to this and consider other treatments for kidney stones. Your doctor may also ask for blood tests to surely determine the cause of the bruises and rule out other causes.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
