What Causes Bruised Thumbnail With Discolouration?
I seem to have what looks like a brused thrumb nail at the white circle. it is redish and has some blak and blue color to it. Also my mail every 6 8 months wiill be sore to touch and then a black strike will start on the nail about middle of the thumb. I takes about the 6 month peroid to grow off. I also have the color of the end of my nail going down the center of the thumb nail. I have asked my doctor about it and she is baffled.

As per your case history of bruised nail, my treatment advice is:
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID drug like Ibuprofen for 5 to 7 days.
If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.
