Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello - I have what looks like bruising on the top of my right foot and a couple toes. Just FYI I do have diabetes. I talked to an on call doctor locally on Saturday morning. He said I should go to Urgent Care later in the morning for them to check out. I did and she said it s nothing I need to worry about. It seems to be getting a little worse and appearing in another area on the top of the foot. I always wear my shoes with orthotic inserts when I walk around so I know it s not from bumping it. What do you think?
Since you are a Diabetic, please take this seriously. You could be having Cellulitis of the right foot. Strict Off loading of the foot with 'Walker' mobilization is essential. Please keep the foot elevated on another chair when seated. If this is inflammation, you would require antibiotics too. Please consult a Podiatric surgeon or a Gen Surgeon , who after confirming that inflammation is present, will prescribe the required antibiotics.
