What Causes Bruising And Pain In Lower Back After A Fall?

I fell over 2 weeks ago and to sit down still is causing me a lot of pain thst im standing up a lot or sitting on a hot water bottle. I was pulling the shutter down at work it jammed and i fell backwards off a step n hit my lower back/bottom on the ground. I got a small bruise on my bottom and thought nothing of it but the pains continued. Its a horrible dull ache that doesnt go away when i sit. Could i have damaged my spine or lower back?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Bruising is common with even mild injury. But severe pain, swelling or bleeding from bruises should be treated immediately. Any small fractures or severe soft tissue swelling should be ruled out. Pain killers and hot compress can provide early pain relief. CT/MRI Spine should be taken to rule out fractures.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
