What Causes Bruising And Pain Under The Ribs On The Right Side?

On my back the right hand side i have noticed a big area of bruising. For the last 3 weeks i have had pain on the right hand side front area just under the rib area. I have been told i have either torn or strained muscle in that area. But the bruising i only just noticed it yesterday morning

Hi,

If you have a big bruising in your body and you do not relate it to trauma then you might need to be examined by a doctor and probably have some blood tests to rule out problems with the platelets or coagulation. These tests would be CBC, thrombocyte count, PT, PTT, liver function tests, etc.
