What Causes Bruising And Swelling On Small Toe?

Hi, I dropped my iron on my foot last night and think I may have broken my small toe, it is bruised and swollen. I have rested all day and taken pain meds but I still can't walk tonight. My main question is should I see a GP/go to A&E. Don't want to waste anyone's time but trying to plan ahead for how I can get back to work this week and look after my young children as currently wouldn't be able to get a shoe on/walk etc. Advice appreciated. Thank you

I have gone through you query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain it seems that there might be a possibility that you have boy fracture of the small toe along with soft tissue injury leading to bruising and swelling..
I would suggest you to consult an Orthopedician and get evaluated and he can also advise you to get an x ray done to rule out for fractures..
In case if there is a fracture he will do reduction and fixation..
In case if there is no fracture then there can be only soft tissue inflammation leading to swelling and pain..
In that case you can do cool compresses over the foot, Take Ibuprofen for pain and elevate your leg while lying down..
