What Causes Bruising Around Clitoris And Spotting?

I've been experiencing what I thought at first was spotting, as I'm on extended regimen birth control and should normally be on my period right now, however, the discharge is brown and clumpy and has no smell of blood. Also, it seems to be coming from the clitoral/urethral area, and there appears to be some slight bruising around my clitoris. Is it possible that I overstimulated the area while masturbating, or is this a normal side effect of birth control?
