General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Annual tear heals with rest, spinal physical therapy and over the counter pain medicines. In case they do not relieve, strong pain medicines and sometimes, muscle relaxants are needed. Please consult your spinal orthopedic surgeon for needful change in medication.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
