What Causes Bruising In The Leg After Shin Injury?

I sustained an injury to the front of my shin during a pile-up playing roller derby last weekend. It didn t really hurt much at the time, just a very large lump. Didn t hurt to walk. No bruising until 3 days later, at which time it bruised all the way down my shin and side of my calf to my heel. Now, 7 days later, the side of my heel on the inside of my foot is almost black, but doesn t hurt, not even to touch. It hurts to touch my shin where the lump was. The lump is still there but is much smaller.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Please note that the blood from the front of the leg had gravitated to the other side.I will recommend that you should undergo X-ray leg AP and lateral view to see if there is any fracture or not.

If no fracture, then take painkiller as Aceclofenic and antibiotic such as a Amoxicillin Clavunate combination two times

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

With Regards,
Dr Varinder Joshi .
