I have major pain on the left side of my breast...towards my armpit. I ve had surgery to remove masses on the left breast...but no cancer. Over the six months, the left breast has been swelling, and hurting. There is a big bump in there, but my old surgeon says when it hurts, it s good. I have no money...sorry to have bothered you....I ll just deal with it
I can understand your concern. It seems that you are developing recurrent cysts or gland enlargements in the breast that is not cancer. Your previous surgery cleared you of cancer. Your doctor's suggestion that when it hurts, its good means it is not suggestive of cancer. Cancer growths are usually painless and found accidentally by patients.
I would advise you to take an antibiotic course to treat the possible infection in the area. Cefixime 200 mg (Topcef) twice a day for five days can help you. You can combine a painkiller with that. If it would be an infection, chances are that it will be eliminated by this course and you will be painfree. However, if it recurs frequently or pain worsens, you may need to visit the gynecologist and go for further investigations.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. Let me know if you have follow up questions.
