What Causes Bump In The Lower Back And Pain After After Sleep?
I have a bump towards the lower back and the spot right next the bump on the left hurts. what could be causing this? I started experiencing sharp pains in the particular spot the start of this year but never paid attention to it as it would go away as quickly. But my back does feel achey in general after sleep.
Hello and welcome to HCM, A bump on the lower back which is painful could be due to a number of causes. The bump could be due to trauma, soft tissue swelling, bony swelling to name a few conditions. You need to get an ultrasound of the lower back to know the origin, site and extent of the bump. Further aspiration cytology of the bump will be required. In aspiration cytology, the sells are sampled using a fine needle. The aspirated cells are spread on slide and stained with appropriate stains. On studying the cells, the origin, nature of the lump can be assessed and thus further management.
