What Causes Bump On Knee Cap After An Injury?

Hi I fell snowboarding on friday i had slight pain and swelling right after but now the swelling has gone down and i and left with some bruising around the left side of my left knee with a marble sized bump just left of my knee cap in the soft tissue between my knee cap and bone what could this be? i have no weakness or instability in my knee just slight pain
