What Causes Bump On Upper Lip Along With Tingling Numbness?

Hi there!
This morning I woke up with a bump right in the middle of my upper lip. There's no discolouration, and it's not terribly painful - there's more of a tingling/slightly numb feel to it. There were no indications of irritation the day prior, so I was a little shocked when I found it. Not sure how relevant this is, but I'm currently on vacation for a month at my grandparent's place up in Prince Edward Island, Canada - I've been coming up here from Ontario every Summer for 8 years now, and never had this problem. I also have no known food/medication allergies, and haven't eaten anything out of the ordinary while up here.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the bump over the lip with a numb sensation is most probably an allergic reaction caused by an insect or bug bite during sleep as the toxic chemical that is released by the sting of the bug causes allergic reaction leading to inflammation and swelling while numb feeling is due to some numbing component in the toxin or due to injury to the terminal nerve fibres leading to numbness in the site of injury..
You need not to worry as slowly when the toxin will decompose the swelling and numbness will subside..
You can take Allegra 60mg twice a day for 3 days to reduce the allergy symptoms..
Do cold compresses over the bump..
Do not scratch or bite the bump as well as do not try to pierce if as it can cause infection..
