What Causes Bump On Wrist Which Is Increasing In Size?

There is a bit of a bump on my wrist. At times it gets bigger and then gets smaller. Right now it is small. Someone told me it is a Gangolian Cyst or something like that. However, when I crack it every day it helps to not hurt. Do you know what this could be and if I should get it checked out?
