What Causes Bump Where The Thyroid Was Removed?

my girlfriend had her thyroid removed 8 weeks ago. she is fine except the area at her throat has a good size bump. at first she thought this was part of the heeling process she seen her doctor and he told her that she was allergic to the sttiches he used. she said he acted like that was not problem, and said that will go away. she is really scared and would like to know if that is correct? thank you

I can understand your concern.

She has gone for thyroidectomy. Her swelling may be due to odeama and inflammatory due to allergy or some other cause. It is not a cause of big worry. Anti inflammatory drugs are helpful. Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
