What Causes Bumps And Itchy Lips?

MY LIPS ARE ITSCY AND TINY LITTLE BUMPS ARE SHOWING, ITS ONLY NOTICEABLE CLOSE UP BUT I CAN FEEL THE IRRITATION, THEY ARE ALSO DRY :( ITS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE AND ITS BEN THE CASE FOR OVER A WEEK NOW... I HAVE USED PETROLEUM JELLY AT NIGHT AND ITS GOT BETTER BUT STILL THERE...

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain itchiness and small bumps on lips can be due to causes like allergic reaction to any food, medication or and lip cosmetic.
It can also be due to viral infection caused by Herpes Simplex Virus 1 causing cold sores..
As it has got better with just application of petroleum jelly it seems to be most probably be due to allergic reaction..
I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like allergic tests and in case if herpes is suspected antigen-antibody reaction, viral culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can take benadryl to relieve itching, continue applying petroleum jelly and do cool compresses over the lips..
Do not suck or lick the lips as it causes drying..
